Frequently Asked Questions
How much do private lessons cost?
The cost of lessons depends on the length of your weekly lesson. I offer lessons varying in length from 30 minutes to an hour, depending on what serves your personal goals best.
At what age should my child begin lessons?
The answer to this common question highly depends upon your child (their abilities and level of development). In general, I would recommend beginning piano students no earlier than 5 years of age. The beginning age for voice lessons is far more individualized, so please email me to set up a meeting time if you are interested in voice lessons for your child. Conducting lessons are geared toward students age 18 and up.
Luckily, there is no such as thing as "too old" for lessons, so don't let that stop you from making music in your life!
How often do I (does my child) need to practice?
There is no set amount of practice time that will guarantee success for you or your child. How often and for how long a student must practice depends on the goals to which they are working. That being said, regular practice is of paramount importance for making the most of your music lessons. As part of your lesson time, I will work with you or your child not only on what to practice, but how to practice it.
Where do lessons take place?
I teach lessons in my home, which is located in Elkins Park, PA (about 10 miles north of Center City Philadelphia).
